Reading striker Adam Le Fondre has signed a new contract at the Madejski Stadium, which will keep him at the club until 2015.

The 25-year old has signed a new contract yesterday, after proving to Royals boss Brian McDermott of his capability of playing Premier League football. Adam was playing League Two football over a year ago and has certainly become a fans favorite after his heroics last season, especially against Southampton in April.

Speaking to the Official Reading FC website, Alfie said: ‘It’s brilliant to sign. It shows how far I’ve come since signing from Rotherham. I’ve always had the self-belief that I’m good enough to play at the highest level and I really appreciate that Reading feel the same. I’m glad have given me a chance I’ve ultimately proved them and myself right.’

The former Stockport player could also be rewarded with a start against Liverpool tomorrow, if Noel Hunt isn’t able to prove his fitness tomorrow morning. I think this is well deserved for Alf, who has taken the jump from the Football League to the Premier League like a duck to water, well played Alfie!
