Reading manager Nigel Adkins praised his players progression over the past few weeks, after their impressive victory over Fulham.

A six-goal thriller at Craven Cottage in the favour of the Royals was Adkins’ first win as boss and it was a fine performance from his side, who deserved all three points. It look six attempts for the 48-year old to get his first win at the helm, but every game has shown progression, something which he has highlighted.

Speaking to the Official Reading FC website, the former Southampton boss said: ‘There’s been a good progression from the players and credit to them. We’ve scored four goals away from home which is really pleasing and we could have had more in fact. We played some really good football and controlled it for large spells.’

‘We spoke to the players after the game, talked about several things and we’ve developed well in a short period of time, you could see that on the pitch. We passed it well, created chances. We’re disappointed with the goals we conceded, as you should be, but all in all it’s a good afternoon’s entertainment for the fans.’
