The Royals will travel to St. Andrews in the fourth round of the FA Cup after Birmingham City demolished Newcastle 5-1 at St James’ Park in a replay tonight.
Goals from Gary McSheffrey, Bruno N’Gotty, Sebastian Larsson, DJ Campbell, and an own goal from Nolberto Solano gave the visitors a comprehensive victory over Glenn Roeder’s side, which had the same starting line-up as their Premiership win at Tottenham on Sunday.
The tie is a repeat of last season’s fourth round encounter, when the City knocked us out 2-1 in a replay after a 1-1 draw.
The fourth round tie will take place on the weekend of Saturday 27th January.
Birmingham’s team is likely to include former Royal Matthew Upson, although the defender has been the subject of plenty of transfer speculation during this current window.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Birmingham win again the way they are playing.
