Reading could potentially be playing Preston North End in the second round of the Carling Cup.

The draw was made last night and means that the winner out of our game with Charlton will play the Lillywhites at home, with the official date yet to be confirmed.

This due to a number of postponements this week in the Carling Cup due to events in London, which led to the Royals game against Charlton being rescheduled to the 23rd August.

The second round draw has also seen Nicholas Bignall’s Exeter City draw Premier League giants Liverpool, which could prove a big test for the Reading youngster.
