Reading completed a superb eight-minute fightback, as they came from two-nil down at the Madejski Stadium to earn victory against West Brom.

The Albion took the lead just short of the 20th minute in the match, with James Morrison’s drilled ball across being buried into the net by Romelu Lukaku from five yards. It was a dire first half performance from the Royals and it got worse with 20 minutes to play, as the impressive Belgian doubled the lead with a fine strike from the edge of the box.

However, with eight minutes to play, Jimmy Kebe gave Brian McDermott’s men hope with a header at the back post, from Garath McCleary’s cross. The match was then drawn level five minutes later, as Jimmy Kebe won a penalty off a rash challenge from a Baggies defender. Substitute Adam Le Fondre stepped up and confidently slotted home the leveler.

This wasn’t the end of the drama at the Madejski, as Reading completed an astonishing comeback. Ian Harte’s free kick was nodded on by Alex Pearce into the path of the onrushing Pavel Pogrebnyak, who managed to loft his effort over Ben Foster and to send the Madejski Stadium into a state of shock and celebration.

The full match report will follow tomorrow and will once again be written by our aspiring, young, new writer, Andrew Wearing.
