A very good Reading performance heaped more misery on lowly Fulham, who now drop to the bottom of the Championship, after losing 3-0 at the Madejski Stadium.

There was a first start for new signing Glenn Murray up front and what a better way to introduce yourself than a debut goal at home? It was Jordan Obita’s superb cross that set up the on-loan Palace man, whose diving header gave no chance for Gabor Kiraly in the Fulham goal.

We started well in the opening stages minutes, but just as the away side were improving, they were dealt a big blow. Matt Smith was making his Fulham debut after signing from Leeds on deadline day, but only lasted 18 minutes, as he received a red card for a late lunge on Akpan.

Nigel Adkins’ men were firmly in control and scored a deserved second on 55 minutes, as Murray headed in from close range from an Obita. Nick Blackman rounded off the scoring after a smart pass from Cox, as he rounded Kiraly, before placing the ball into an empty net to seal victory.
