The Royals head to Preston on Saturday in fine form, looking to pick up three points to head into the international break with.

Preston won on Tuesday night in an amazing game against Leeds, coming back from 4-1 down to win 6-4 at Elland Road. However their form at home is no so great and they have only scored twice at Deepdale so far this season.

A full match preview is here…

Vital Quotes:

Boss Brian McDermott on Preston-

‘They`ve obviously shown some real good spirit in the last two games and must have that in spades. Going 4-1 down at Elland Road and then getting a result like that – you don`t see that very often. It must have been incredible to be there and if you`re a Preston fan you must be completely buoyant.’

In form Ian Harte –

‘It will be a difficult game against Preston, but with the squad that we have, I`m sure we`re capable of going there and getting the three points.’

Preston Team News:

The home side will welcome back defender Wayne Brown but he is unlikely to go straight back into the team after the 6-4 win over Leeds.

Josh King could also return but his fellow Man Utd loanee Matt James will miss out with an ankle injury.

Player to watch: Jon Parkin

Big striker scored a hat-trick in midweek against Leeds and will be a handful for the Royals defence.

Reading Team News:

Matt Mills is suspended following his red card on Tuesday night, but Zurab Kizhanishvili returns from suspension to take his place in the centre of defence.

Brian Howard will sit out the final game of his three match ban so Chris Armstrong should continue in midfield.

Simon Church is pushing for a start after his goal against Ipswich, but might have to make to with a place on the bench if Hal Robson Kanu is fit after a knock.

Brynjar Gunnarsson and Andy Griffin will miss out again through injury but both should be back after the international break.

Player to watch: Ian Harte

Along with Jimmy Kebe, he is the Royals inform player at the moment and will be keen to continue that against Preston.
