Potential loan targets – Strikers

We have never really exploited the loan market in recent years, but we look at some potential loan targets who could solve our striker shortage.

————————————————————————

Patrick Bamford – Chelsea – The 20-year old is likely to be shipped out on loan again by Jose Mourinho and another move to the Championship seems most likely. His record last year was very good, scoring 22 goals in 42 games on loan at both MK Dons and Derby – it is this sharp finishing which would make him a good replacement for Alfie, albeit short-term.

James Wilson – Manchester United – Young Wilson came to prominence back in May, as he scored two goals on his United debut in a 3-1 win over Hull City. He is very highly thought of at Old Trafford and considering his name is now being talked about, a loan would be a smart move for the England under 19 international.

Sam Gallagher – Southampton – Another young player who has made the step up to the first team of a Premier League side at 18, scoring his first professional goal against Norwich. Gallagher stands at 6’4 and it’s that type of striker we have been missing since Kitson – like Wilson, regular football could be the answer for him.

Harry Kane – Tottenham – This one is slightly more optimistic, considering he was starting games for Spurs at the end of the season. He scored three times in ten games for them last season, but any potential loan deal will hinge of whether Pochettino is willing to give him a chance next season.
