With the takeover no closer to completion, we look at more potential loan signings for us over the next few weeks – this time focusing on central midfielders.

————————————————————————-

Emyr Huws – Manchester City – The 20-year old was relatively unknown at Manchester City, for obvious reasons, but came to the forefront in a very successful loan spell with Birmingham last season. Huws also earnt his first two caps for the Welsh national side this year and proved that he is comfortable playing in the number ten role or sitting deep in midfield.

Tom Carroll – Tottenham – Another youngster with a big future at his parent club, most recently a part of the QPR team that won promotion last year. The central midfielder was in and out of the team, due to QPR’s flood of loan players last year, being only able to have five in a match day squad. Carroll will be desperate for first team football and we could offer that for him here.

Gedion Zelalem – Arsenal – If you want to talk about big future’s, this 17-year old is one of the most highly talked about youngsters in the world. Arsene Wenger has even been quoted that he is sure he will play in the first team one day and has even been likened to Xavi for his passing range. Physically he may struggle in the Championship, but his undoubted talent and potential make him a good target for a Championship team.

Gylfi Sigurdsson – Tottenham – Can you imagine the scenes? The homecoming that we have all been dreaming of since he left back in 2010. Yes, itt is highly unlikely it would ever happen, considering there is interest from other Premier League teams in him, but what harm is there sticking in a cheeky loan bid? We have not had a good number ten since he left, so what better way to replace him with the man himself.
