Sheffield Wednesday are keen to sign Reading winger Michail Antonio on a permanent deal and are currently in talks with the Royals.

The newly-promoted side signed the 22-year old on loan in February and he has made a massive impact on loan at Hillsborough. Antonio played 14 games for the Owls, scoring four goals in the process and helping Dave Jones’ side to promotion back to the Championship.

The former Cardiff boss has openly admitted he would like to sign Antonio on a permanent deal but it’s within Reading’s preference to loan him out again. Discussions are ongoing but the deal could depend largely on the potential transfer of Gareth McCleary to Reading, who has reportedly completed his medical.
