Reading midfielder Jem Karacan has spoken about the influence of caretaker manager Eamonn Dolan and what he brings to the table.

The 45-year old, whose only managerial tenure came at Exeter City nearly ten years ago, will coach the Royals side as they face the daunting task of facing Manchester United at Old Trafford. Dolan has worked with a number of current first team players in the academy and the Turkish midfielder has been keen to highlight this.

Speaking to the http://www.readingfc.co.uk/news/article/jem-weve-earned-the-right-140313-714937.aspx, Jem said: ‘I’ve known Eamonn since I was 15 and worked with him day in day out. He has been brilliant – not just with me but helping the other lads come through the youth system. You know what you get from him – he makes it clear for each player before the game. He’s a fantastic character.’

‘Kuhly and Doddsy have also been really good for us over the last few days. Kuhly was coaching alongside Eamonn back when I was in the Academy, and Doddsy has come in over the last couple of years and has been brilliant. I’ve trained with him a couple of times and he can bring something new to the team. But the main thing is Saturday, and we’re all focused on that.’

As much as Jem can praise Dolan, I can’t really see him getting the job on a full-time basis and if he did, it would make Anton took a fool in many senses. When the new man is appointed, I’m sure Eamonn will continue with his academy role at the club, a record which has proven to be very successful under his leadership.
