Reading manager Brian McDermott is looking to ship French striker Cedric Baseya on loan lower down the leagues, in an attempt for him to get some first-team football.

The giant striker has been in fine form for the reserves, scoring as many goals as he has games since signing on a free transfer in September on a one-year contract.

The Royals manager told the ReadingPost: “Ideally, if we could get Cedric some games in the league out on loan then that would be the best thing for his development right now.

The 23-year old Frenchman spent the beginning of his career in England at Southampton but only made one appearance. He has also player for French top division team Lille and Le Harve but is yet to score a competitive goal.
