Reading manager Brian McDermott believes that despite sacrificing a 2-0 lead against Swansea, a point is a very good result to take from the game.

The former Slough boss witnessed his side go two goals ahead at the Liberty Stadium, despite the home side being on top for the majority of the half. However, a revitalised Swansea side came out to earn Michael Laudrup’s side a point, with two goals in the last 20 minutes of the game. The performance of goalkeeper Alex McCarthy is also one of noting, keeping the scoreline respectable for the Royals.

Speaking to the Official Reading FC website, McDermott said: ‘This is a fantastic league with some really good players in it and I`m loving every moment of it. This afternoon’s game was a really good match for the neutrals and we know we`re a big part of this league. We were 2-0 up and it was a good position for us but this is a tough place to come.’

‘Every single game this season bar Spurs we`ve been right in it, competitive. That was the same today, which is pleasing. In the second half it took some fantastic saves from Alex to keep us in the lead and Swansea played really well. He`s a keeper that wants to make the number one spot his own. But it`s a point gained for us.’
