Reading manager Brian McDermott has quelled any rumours linking him with the vacant Leicester job, with some morning newspapers claiming McDermott could be one of the manager’s on the Foxes shortlist.

The Guardian reported that the Leicester board were looking to appoint a manager with Championship experience but the former Slough boss has moved quickly to deny these allegations.

McDermott, 50, told the Reading Post: “I`ve been here 11 years now and until someone tells me anything different, this is where I am.” and said that there has been no contact between the clubs whatsoever.

Brian is also one of the longest serving managers in the Championship. On the topic of managers he added: “Nothing surprises me about what happens with managers. It`s a game-to-game business.’

The Royals squad will now move to this afternoons game at Crystal Palace, where over 1,000 supporters will be travelling to South London to support McDermott’s men.
