McDermott closes in on fourth signing

Reading are close to completing a deal for Sheffield United forward Nick Blackman, according to Sky Sports.

Reports have suggested that the Royals have agreed a fee with the League One outfit, with the offer in the region of £1.2 million for the former Blackburn player. It would be Brian McDermott’s fourth signing of the window, with a deal for Thomas Ince still possibly on the cards.

It is unknown whether the forward has agreed personal terms at the Madejski Stadium yet, but is likely to travel to Berkshire either tonight or tomorrow morning for his medical. He has scored 14 goals for the Blades in all competitions this season.
