Reading captain Jobi McAnuff has become a patron for the anti-racism campaigners ‘Show Racism the Red Card’.

They are a group based in the UK, who are an educational charity that hosts many events round the country to inform young people about the need to express racial equality in football. They have numerous high-profile patrons in the organisation, with Jermain Defoe and Samuel Eto’o just two to mention.

‘Show Racism the Red Card’ held an event at the Madejski Stadium two days ago, with 120 Year 5 and Year 6 pupils participating in workshops run by the Reading captain and some of the RFC community coaches. Fellow midfielder Mikele Leigertwood was also at the event, alongside Paul Mortimer & Anwar Uddin, who are also both patrons for SRTRC.
