In recent weeks McAnuff has been well under par which was capped with a poor display at Bristol City last week. However on Saturday he put in a star performance and was delighted to grab his first goal of the season at Turf Moor. Speaking to the Reading Post, he said –

‘It wasn`t the sweetest strike I`ve ever hit, but having not scored this season I`ll take anything at the minute and it will hopefully set me up on a little run.

He will be looking to continue that against Doncaster on Saturday and he feels the club will go into the game full of confidence.

‘Time and time again our pace on the break will give other teams problems and it`s just about getting that solid base and working from that. Doncaster are a good team who play good football. They`re in and around us, but we`ll go into it with great confidence.’

It’s about time McAnuff stepped up and the absence of Kebe seemed to bring the best out of him at Burnley. When the focus is on him he always seems to play well, as he did when he was captain a few weeks ago at Preston.
