Marcus and Murty To Miss Easter?

Reading Captain Graeme Murty and goalkeeper Marcus Hahnemann could miss the Easter fixtures due to injuries.

Hahnemann had trouble with his hip warming up for the Spurs game on Sunday. The problem persisted and resulted in the stopper (who was having a top game!) being substituted at half time due to constant niggling.

The oldest member of the Reading squad could miss the Easter games at home to Liverpool and away to Charlton, leaving the door open for rookie Adam Federici to step in between the sticks.

Reading`s physio Jon Fearn commented that, “Marcus has got a relatively minor muscle problem, but it’s in the opposite hip to where he had problems before.

‘He did it in training so it’s a new injury. He’s got a scan today but it’s not a major problem and we’ll see how he progresses.”

Meanwhile, skipper Graeme Murty is hopeful of a return against Liverpool on Saturday, Jon Fearn said:

“Graeme is improving and we’ll have a better understanding of the injury by tomorrow.

‘He has to do running work to give himself the best chance for the weekend.’

I am personally hoping that Murty and Hahnemann won`t be available for one if not both of the Easter matches. Although Liverpool is a big fixture, on the current form they are on I don`t think anyone expects us to win even at Fortress Madejski.

It would be great for Adam Federici and Greg Halford to pit themselves against a Champions League playing side as it is players like these who are the future of Reading.
