Long and O’Dea have been selected in the Republic of Ireland squad for their world cup play off against France. The Irish play the first leg at Croke Park on Saturday 14th November before the return 4 days later in Paris.


Meanwhile Ryan Bertrand could play at Wembley in an England under 21 qualifier against Portugal and he is joined in that squad by young goalkeeper Alex McCarthy, who is currently onloan at Yeovil.


Adam Federici, Brynjar Gunnarsson, Jem Karacan, Marek Matejovsky and Gylfi Sigurdsson will also be involved for their countries next week.
