Lita Joins Charlton

Leroy Lita scored his sixth goal in four reserve games in the 2-1 win over Chelsea reserves last night.

With Kevin Doyle and Dave Kitson unable to find the back of the net at the moment, it seemed inevitable that Lita would get the first team chance he thoroughly deserves.

Unfortunately, Steve Coppell bizarrely has over ideas and Lita has joined Charlton on loan for 28 days.

Coppell said, ‘Leroy has understandably been frustrated at his lack of first team action recently, so this loan move will be a perfect way for him to retain match sharpness at the highest level of Championship competition’.

Lita has looked very sharp for the reserves, whilst Doyle and Kitson seem to be very short on confidence and currently lacking a killer instinct, so this loan move comes as a big shock.

With Shane Long the only other striker in the squad, Steve Coppell apparently feels that three strikers who can’t buy a goal at the moment are going to be enough to keep the club in the division.

Coppell has been a great manager for Reading, but it seems he has let his personal relationship with Lita effect his judgement and it remains to be seen whether this will ultimately effect Reading’s chances of survival.
