After four defeats on the spin, the Royals again try to right the wrongs of an awful home run. Brendan Rodgers is running out of excuses and a home win is long overdue.
Brandan Rodgers on Marek Matejovsky
Marek will certainly be involved. It’s been a wee bit frustrating for him, but there is absolutely no doubt he has qualities.
Reading Team News:
The Royals will be without Ivar Ingimarsson who is suspended following his sending off against QPR. Ryan Bertran has recovered from a head knock that saw him miss that game though, so Darren O’Dea is likely to switch to the centre of defence alongside Matt Mills. Shaun Cummings will hope to get the nod at right back ahead of Jay Tabb.
Marek Matejovsky is certain to be involved and could start in the centre of midfield, whilst Rodgers must decide who to play upfront with Grzegorz Rasiak now back in contention, but Noel Hunt is out.
Chris Armstrong will again be missing but he is back in light training and could soon return to boost the Royals defensive options.
Player to watch: Marek Matejovsky
There has been too much talking about how good a player Matejovsky is, its now time to prove it. He appears to be back in favour with Brendan Rodgers after an impressive performance for the reserves in midweek and now must carry that into the first team and show his internation class.
Leicester Team News:
Paul Gallagher came off the bench to score twice in the midweek win over Crystal Palace and is likely to start his first game since moving to the Walkers Stadium. Nigel Pearson has a relatively injury free squad to choose from with plenty of options.
Player to watch: Matty Fryatt
Has a reputation for scoring goals but doubts still remain over his ability to do it in the Championship. Has began the season well and will be looking to find the back of the net live on Sky.
Last meeting
The last time these sides met was that famous day back in March 2005 when the Royals clinched promotion to the Premiership, despite drawing 1-1 that afternoon. Iain Hume opening the scoring for Leicester and I won’t need to tell you that Kevin Doyle equalised.
Match Prediction:
Home wins, and indeed home goals, have been hard to come by in 2009 and with the Foxes looking to force their way into the play off places with a win – I cannot see us getting anything. Royals 0-1 Leicester
