The Football League have made some changes in the rule books for the upcoming season.

Firstly, the multi-ball system has now be deposed off, with most managers not being a fan of it. Ian Holloway and Paul Lambert are notable names that have both publicly vented their frustration at the system at the Madejski Stadium.

Secondly, the substitute number will now be reduced back down to 5, replacing the system of naming 7 substitutes in a match day squad.

The decision was made on a majority vote with all 72 Football League Clubs involved. Reading FC have also made it publicly known they were against both of these changes.
