Jimmy Kebe has hit back, following reports that he refused to play against Peterborough, arguing some fans are using him as a scapegoat.

The Reading winger was declared fully fit by manager Nigel Adkins on Monday, but Kebe informed him that he wouldn’t be available for selection in Tuesday night’s game. Coincidentally enough, reports in the media have stated that the Malian is in talks with Crystal Palace over a possible move to Selhurst Park.

Quoted by the Reading Chronicle, Jimmy said: ‘The fans say Jimmy Kebe refused to play and this sort of thing but I would never do that. I’ve been at Reading for six years and never have I refused to play. Why would I now? It wasn’t a good game for Reading and I feel they need to make somebody guilty for this result and maybe that’s me.’

The tone of Adkins when he was speaking about the situation suggests that we may have seen Kebe play his last game for the club. He is clearly disgusted with his attitude and if it’s true he has refused to play because of this Palace move, then good riddance Jimmy!
