Reading midfielder Jem Karacan has said he still wants to play in Turkey one day, but is currently enjoying life with Reading.

The 23-year old signed a new deal at the Madejski Stadium last week, which commits himself to the club until the summer 2015. However, Jem has said he still hopes to play in Turkey at some point in his career, with his father a keen follower of Galatasaray. Despite this, the Turkish U21 international is still happy with the Royals.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Jem said: ‘I’ve been here for nine years and this club is close to my heart. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. A few years ago I was close to going to Besiktas. And I think my dad would have a go at me if I didn’t play in Turkey one day. He wants me to play for Galatasaray. One day in the future, though.’
