Reading defender Ulises De La Cruz has quickly become recognised as the Premier Leagues most generous player due to his excellent charity work in his native country, Ecuador.

De La Cruz made the headlines back in January when it was revealed that he donates a generous 10% of his wages, earning him the Ecuadorian equivalent of an MBE. ‘http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/6302665.stm

The full back’s foundation FundeCruz focuses on children’s nutrition, health, education and sports development.

The foundation provides meals on a daily basis for 100 primary school children, as well as running water for a whole village. It has also provided the village with a hospital, a school and the construction of a community sports centre.

FundeCruz is now a registered charity in England and continues to grow. Since it was founded, it has contributed a great deal and has helped vastly improve the living conditions of the town of Piquiucho.
