Double consolation for Obita

I’m sure Jordan Obita isn’t feeling too much happiness at the moment, but has been given two big boosts today.

First of all, Obita was rightly crowned the club’s official player of the season, with Chris Gunter coming close second and Danny Williams finishing in third. No real surprises there, as his conversion to left-back has been a successful and highly-impressive one too.

Reading Post reporter Charles Watts has also reported that the 20-year old has been named in the provisional England Under 20 squad, for this summer’s Toulon Tournament in France. A great achievement for Obita and a deserved one too, for what has been a great season for him.

As much as today will probably leave him with disappointment, these two accolades will give him a great boost going into next season. A national tournament should also enhance his progression further, could we even be at risk of losing him in the summer? You never know!
