Reading caretaker manager Eamonn Dolan has revealed he wants to stay at the club, after the managerial situation has been resolved.

The 45-year old has been in control of the first team for over a week now and with the managerial situation not appearing to be nearing a conclusion, there is a chance he could be called upon for the Arsenal game. However, whatever the future holds, Dolan has said he would like to remain at the Madejski Stadium for the foreseeable future.

Speaking to the media and quoted by Sky Sports, Dolan said: ‘I don’t know about Arsenal, we haven’t discussed it and wouldn’t. Anton has been fantastic with me and let me get on with it. I talked to him the first couple of days and he popped me a text before the United match.’

‘It’s been a really difficult week – for us to put in a performance like that considering the players’ relationship to Brian is a credit to them and a credit to all the staff. I want to stay at Reading Football Club definitely as some sort of manager, academy or whatever.’

Eamonn probably goes unnoticed for his fantastic work in the academy at the club, so to continue what he is building on would be the best option for all concerned. While the process goes on in finding a new manager, I’m more than happy with Dolan at the helm for the time being.
