The stage is very nearly set – the date has just been announced for our FA Cup semi-final with Arsenal.

The Football Association have confirmed that Steve Clarke’s men will take on the holders of the prestigious cup at Wembley, on Saturday 18th April, kicking off at 5.20pm. The second semi-final final between Liverpool/ Blackburn and Aston Villa will take place the next day.

It will be broadcasted live on the BBC, as the Royals take part in their first semi-final in 88 years, having beaten Bradford on Monday night. Arsenal are the current holders of the competition, having beaten Hull in a thrilling 3-2 game in the final at Wembley last year.

You can’t complain about the scheduling, but even 3.00pm kick off on Sunday wouldn’t have been that bad. At least trains will be running well all through the Saturday for the fans. Even if we do get smashed, it will be a great occasions for the club, players and the fans!
