The Baggies are stuttering in their bid to return to the Premier League at the first time of asking, and slipped up away at Bristol City at the weekend. However goalkeeper, and captain, Scott Carson is determined to see of the Royals on Wednesday and set up a meeting with local rivals Aston Villa in the quarter finals.

‘Reading will be a tough game but we have to be positive and make sure we get the right result. I know there is a lot of football to be played but we know that we could have a big local derby with Villa if we get through.’

He goes on to say that the last thing he wants is extra time and that they need to win to send them into Saturday’s game against Derby on a high.

It sounds to me like the former England international is getting a bit carried away and despite trying to tell us otherwise, is much more concerned about the league!

He will soon learn on Wednesday that we are not going to the Hawthorns for anything less than a win. He will sure know he has been in a game come 10pm on Wednesday night!
