Reading manager Brian McDermott has looked at the positives of his side going into a two-week international break.

The Royals’ next game will be away against Burnley on the 15th October and despite his team’s good recent form, McDermott is seeing it as a benefit for the players.

The 50-year old told the RFC official site: ‘We’ve got a few days off now and I think they will need that. A few of the players will be going away with their countries of course and hope they all come back healthy.’

The former Slough boss himself has admitted he is unsure what he is going to do. ‘Me personally, I don’t know what I’m going to do. I’m very dull – I watch a lot of football. I don’t actually know what I do apart from football.’

Many Royals will be away on international duty such as Adam Federici, Bongani Khumalo, Mikele Leigertwood, Simon Church and Hal Robson-Kanu plus many more.
