Nigel Adkins is yet to sign any of his former players, but is reportedly weighing up a move for Ricky Lambert.

The Sun have today reported that the former Southampton manager could make an audacious move for the 31-year old, after Adkins is still on the search for a new frontman. His former players at Scunthorpe, Gary Hooper and Billy Sharp have also been heavily linked with a move.

However, the Saints would only be wiling to sell if you they spent big on a striker of their own, with Roma forward Osvaldo being linked in recent days. A bid of around £3 million could seriously tempt Nicola Cortese to led go the fans favourite.

Despite all the paper talk, I really can’t see this move happening. Pochettino seems to be a fan of Lambert, starting him in the majority of their games and if he was free to leave, I’m sure a number of Premier League teams would be leading the queue. It’s not impossible though…
