Nigel Adkins has been commenting about Wayne Bridge for the first time, since signing him last month.

The 32-year old joined the recently-relegated Royals on a one-year contract and joins the Madejski Stadium with a heap of experience. Bridge has won all three of the major honours in England, as well as participating in the Champions League and on the international stage.

Speaking to the Official Reading FC website about one of his three new signings, Adkins said: ‘Listen, he got into the team of the year for the Championship last season. He`s played in the Premier League – you tell me how many games he`s played at the top level and internationally!’

‘He`s got a wealth of experience. I watched him last season, he brings an undoubted ability to the football pitch. We`re really pleased with the experience and the quality he`s got to add to the group.’

Some fans may think that Bridge hasn’t got the legs at the age of 32, but many Brighton fans would beg to differ. He has coped well with injuries over the past couple of seasons and adds to a very strong-looking left side of the team, for the upcoming seasons.
