Reading FC are again being linked with West Ham striker Bobby Zamora according to the Independent.

Zamora is though to want to leave the relegation stricken Hammers and it is thought that the Berkshire outfit could put a bid in for him should West Ham be relegated.

Zamora was also connected with the Royals in the January transfer window, but as nothing came of the speculation it was passed off as gossip. Is this again the case?

Reading have had some problems with strikers this season, but including Seol Ki Hyeon and Simon Cox the club does have a choice of six to choose from, Zamora would be used to this kind of competition considering the amount of strikers he is competing against at West Ham. But would he want to move to a team where he would be a squad player?

However, in favour of this rumour, Zamora has worked with Reading boss Steve Coppell before when the pair were at Brighton together. Coppell is said to be an avid admirer of Zamora`s so it is possible that he could be playing in a blue and white shirt?

but what do you think of this rumour? Is there any truth in it? Would you like to see Zamora playing at Reading? Let us know what you think below!

Zamora’s not a bad player by any means, but is he that much better than what we’ve already got? In my opinion, future signings should be an improvement on the players we already have, and not just provide more competition for places.

As I say, Zamora’s a decent enough player, but with Doyle, Kitson, and Leroy, we have three strikers of equal standard to him. I’d hope any summer signings will be with the view of taking the club forward.

Saying this, if we do manage to qualify for European competition, then we’ll certainly need ample squad players to be able to compete on two fronts. I wouldn’t be dissapointed if we signed him, but in truth, I’m hoping for more quality.

I see what’s you’re saying Thomas, but Zamora’s proven at Premiership level with Spurs and West Ham. He’s scored goals at this level and he’ll be a brilliant addition to the squad. Let’s hope there’s some truth to the rumour!

Bubba_Ho-Tep who r u 2 say who’s a good signing for this club? Zamora’s just about to get relegated with West Ham so he’s not exactly world class! He wasn’t good enough for Spurs, and we’re currently above them in the table, so why is he good enough for us?

Reading till i die, you’re forgetting who our manager is! Steve Coppell has a proven track record of getting the best out of his players, and if he’s already worked with Zamora in the past then he’s obviously seen something in him that warrants interest.

Zamora does have the attributes of a decent striker, but like I’ve said, is he that much better than who we already have? Let’s not forget that Shane Long is improving at a high rate of knotts and has scored his first Premiership goal already. By the time next season comes he might even be challenging for a place in the starting line-up as he constantly rinses it for the reserves.

Sure, Zamora’s quick, he’s good in the air, and is a good predator, but so are the strikers we already have. Doyle was in incredible form before he got injured, Lita’s scored a total of 15 goals this season, and Kitson has scored and set-up goals in every game he’s started bar Arsenal last weekend.
