Reading captain Matt Mills, 24, is being chased by a handful of Premier League clubs, with reports claiming Wolves are winning the race.

However, Wolves Director of Football Jez Moxey is denying these allegations, saying although they are interested in buying centre-halfs this summer, they are not currently in negotiations with any club concerning one.

Stoke, Blackburn, Swansea and Bolton have been interested in former Manchester City man, who has been attracting a variety of interest following the Royals failure in the recent play-off final.

Former Reading manager Alan Pardew has declared his interest in the towering centre-half as a potential signing for Newcastle, with the Swindon-born defender having one year left on his current contract.

It has been a huge turnaround from the player that was surplus to requirements under former Royals boss Brendan Rodgers but has been transformed by current boss Brian McDermott. Now considered a key player for Reading, it is believed the board are looking for a fee between £3-4m.
