Wolves have second bid rejected for Mills

Reading have turned down a second bid from Wolves for captain Matt Mills. We reported to you a few days ago that Reading rejected an offer from Wolves for the towering centre half, but Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has come in with a second bid, only to get the same answer.

Sky Sports reported that the bid was around £3m when the Royals seem to be holding out until around £4m for the former Doncaster man.

Wolves had also been tracking Roger Johnson but approaches for the defender were also turned down.

It is now believed McCarthy is going to move on from Mills and Johnson and persue his interest in out of favour Manchester United defener Jonny Evans. Who following the arrival of Phil Jones, is way down in the pecking order at old Trafford.

Reading hope in the light of Wolves not persuing Mills anymore, it may encourage the 6’3 defender to sign a new deal at the Madejski Stadium, which was due to run out next summer.
