Reading have turned down a second bid from Wolves for captain Matt Mills. We reported to you a few days ago that Reading rejected an offer from Wolves for the towering centre half, but Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has come in with a second bid, only to get the same answer.

Sky Sports reported that the bid was around £3m when the Royals seem to be holding out until around £4m for the former Doncaster man.

Wolves had also been tracking Roger Johnson but approaches for the defender were also turned down.

It is now believed McCarthy is going to move on from Mills and Johnson and persue his interest in out of favour Manchester United defener Jonny Evans. Who following the arrival of Phil Jones, is way down in the pecking order at old Trafford.

Reading hope in the light of Wolves not persuing Mills anymore, it may encourage the 6’3 defender to sign a new deal at the Madejski Stadium, which was due to run out next summer.

This is an out and out lie, concocted by Reading FC to try and start an auction and at the same time denying the player a chance of playing in the premiership, talk about the lowest of the low.

I fail to see your point. Your saying us starting an auction for Mills which I’m presuming you mean to attract interest in him, which would surely make him have a better chance of playing in the Prem? Yet your saying by basically offering him out is abstructing his chances. It all seems quite plausable to me considering it has been mentioned by a number of sources and Mick McCarthy has said he is in the market for centre halfs.
