Reading winger Jimmy Kebe has broken his silence on his contract situation, saying he wants to stay at the Madejski Stadium but not on what he has been offered by the board.

The Malian is usually quite a quiet figure and tends not give interviews but spoke to Jonny Fordham of the Reading Post concerning his ongoing contract issues.

The 27-year old said: “I`ve talked to them since the beginning of the season and said I really wanted to stay. They keep saying they really want me to stay, but they don`t show me in terms of the contract.’

‘I read the newspaper and Nick Hammond was saying they offered me an extremely good contract, but I don`t think so. Now I`m afraid I will leave in January or the summer.’

Since signing from Lens in 2008, he has made 142 appearances, scoring 21 goals and has made himself known as one of the best wingers outside the Premier League with his outstanding pace.

A move back to his native country France could well be on the cards but has stated whenever he is in a Reading shirt he will continue to give his best.

It is a dangerous game but we kind of needed to hear his side of story considering our director of football was slating him for not accepting the contract.
