Wigan Make £5m Bid?

Steve Bruce is believed to have made a bid in the region of £5m for Reading winger Stephen Hunt.

Wigan have money to spend after Wilson Palacios completed a £12m move to Tottenham and wants the Royals Stephen Hunt.

It was reported earlier on Sky Sports.com however both parties have yet confirmed or denied the offer.

Boss Coppell and Director of Football Nicky Hammond are known not to do business in the media spotlight and may have requested that the deal is done under the public radar.

Hunt, on numerous occasions, has stated his intentions to get back to the Premier league as soon as possible and would only go to a club with good Premier League status.

It can’t be good for the team when a player wants to be somewhere else and in my opinion although he works hard probably lacks the cutting edge that the Premier League requires.

I’m not saying that he would be a bad signing and I do think £5m will be good business for Wigan but being a Reading fan, personally, I hope he does go.

Wigan have climbed as high as 7th in the league this year and with the team looking strong, maybe pushing for a UEFA cup spot come May.
