Gylfi Sigurdsson hit the winning penalty in the 90th minute at the Walker’s Stadium on Wednesday night but insisted he didn’t have time to think about pressure, proving he really is the Ice man!

He told the Official Site after the game, ‘I didn’t think about pressure, it was just a great chance to win the game and move us up into the top half of the table.’

While it was him that struck the winner, he was full of praise for sub Simon Church who climbed off the bench to win the spot kick with a fine run into the box.

‘I have to give credit to Churchy, he’s done ever so well and his touch was unbelievable to win the penalty and it’s a simple goal for me.’

Yet another fine display from the Icelandic youngster has left him one of the favourite’s for the player of the season award, especially if he can enspire us to make the play off’s against all odds. Sigurdsson only has eyes for the next game though,

‘We just want to get up the table as far as we can and we are thinking only of the next game against West Brom.’

With Sigurdsson on this form, as well as Jimmy Kebe, fans are starting to dream of the play off’s even if the players aren’t!
