Good news on the new training ground – Wokingham Borough Council have given the green light to prospective plans.

The Reading Post revealed today that the plans for a new state-of-the-art training complex, based in Bearwood, have finally been verified by Wokingham Borough council, despite some underlying doubts.

The club originally had these plans under former owner Anton Zingarevich, whose damage to the club has certainly been publicised in recent weeks! It appears some good has come of his visions though.

We achieved Category One academy status two years ago and the move will be pivotal to making sure we keep this highest acclaim. Hogwood is probably not on the level required for a top level academy.

Our academy has been a large base for our first team this season, with the likes of Hector, Cooper, Kuhl and Samuel coming through. I’m glad that we’re investing to hopefully keep this trend continuing.
