Two teams at the opposite end of the table face each other at Goodison Park on Saturday as fourth place Everton take on fourth from bottom Reading.
Everton are having a very good season and are currently occupying the final Champions League spot.
Reading, on the other hand, are having a fairly torrid season and are just one point off the relegation zone.
Steve Coppell on staying up;
‘We’ve spent four years getting here, and I for one am not about to give that up lightly.
‘After last week there was a suspicion we’ve become a soft touch, and we’re insulted by that. Now we have to have a reaction’.
Everton Team News:
Anthony Gardner, Thomas Gravesen, Steven Pienaar and Victor Anichebe are all injured, while Yakubu is not in the squad after returning from the African Nations.
Player to watch: Andy Johnson
Andy Johnson seems to love playing against Reading, as he almost always scores. His pace will be very difficult to contain, especially considering Reading’s woeful defensive record.
Reading Team News:
Ivar Ingimarsson is suspended and will be replaced by Ibrahima Sonko.
Bobby Convey is in the USA receiving treatment on a knee injury.
New signing Jimmy Kebe could be involved.
Player to watch: Marek Matejovsky
The Czech international has looked very good in his short time at Reading and could be the key to survival.
Match Facts & Stats
Reading STILL haven’t won away this season and have lost their last six games.
Everton have not scored in three league and cup games and Reading haven’t scored in four.
Mark Halsey (Lancashire)
Unfortunately Reading seem to be in free fall at the moment and I can’t see that changing at Goodison Park.
Everton are very good at home and Reading are very bad away so I can’t see anything but an Everton win.
My Prediction: Everton 1-0 Reading
Villa (h) 24/02/08
