With many thanks to Sheffield United season ticket holder Ben Jones (@superblade1987), we ask a few questions about his beloved Blades. We ask Ben about how Dave Kitson is getting on at Bramall Lane, what Reading player he rates the most and his prediction for the game on Saturday.

————————————————————

1) You were flying high in League One a month or two ago, why have you suddenly dipped in form?

League 1 is a funny league and anyone can beat anyone on their day. We haven’t really played well all season in terms of performances but had picked up a good few results. I think one of the main reasons we have dipped in form is due to our strength in depth. Other clubs seem to signing players and have a half decent subs bench were ours is full of kids. The chairman refuses to invest any more money. One or two injuries cause major problems for us.

2) What are your strengths and weaknesses you have noticed about United over the past few weeks?

For me our main strengths have been defensively, when our first team back four are fit. Weakness is definitely going forward, our wingers never look like beating their men and the midfield don’t create enough chances. Therefore we don’t score enough goals which has been our biggest problem all season. A lot of Blades fans do forget we don’t have Stephen Quinn, Lee Williamson and Ched Evans anymore which was a frightening attacking force in that league last season.

3) Are you confident Danny Wilson is the man to get you out of the League One?

Danny Wilson is up for debate with a lot of blades fans, but for me I still believe in him and is doing a great job on the funds and squad he has available to him.

4) Who are the players that us Royals fans should be keeping an eye out for on Saturday?

If Kevin Macdonald performs in the middle of the park he is our danger man. He has great vision and distribution of the ball which is key to unlocking defences for us. Jaime Murphy has just arrived at Bramall Lane and comes with big expectations so will also be interesting to see him Saturday.

5) Likely team and shape for Saturday’s game?

4-4-2 most likely formation. The team:

GK: Long.

Def: Daryl Westlake, Danny Higginbotham, Harry Maguire, Tony McMahon.

Mid: Michael Doyle (C), Kevin Macdonald, Nick Blackman, Ryan Flynn.

Strikers: Jamie Murphy, Dave Kitson.

6) How is our former striker Dave Kitson getting on at Bramall Lane?

Dave Kitson is class. We needed and big strong centre forward who can hold the ball up but also score goals. He does bring other players in to the game which can make a big difference for us. I am please we have secured him until the end of this season.

7) What Reading player do you rate most and why?

I really like Adam Le Fondre (Alfie) I saw him play at Rotherham a few times. Great sense of position and a natural goal scorer. For me very underrated and deserves a good run in the team.

8) Prediction for the game?

I think it will be close and a game with few chance but a 1-0 win for Reading is my prediction.
