The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

Last season the Royals had the good, this years it’s been the bad, but now they need the ugly to avoid relegation, according to Marcus Hahnemann.

After a run of eight straight defeats Reading had been left languishing in the relegation zone, but after back-to-back wins the Royals have moved up to 14th.

Although the Royals aren’t quite playing the attractive football that turned so many heads last season, USA stopper Hahnemann believes that a few ‘ugly’ performances will do the Royals the world of good.

He said, ‘We’re playing well. It might not be pretty at times, and Harps was moaning again like normal because he said the City game was dull. But Harps is always moaning about something!

‘But winning is the only thing that matters, and sometimes you have to win ugly. If we win a few more ugly, then we can start to play a little bit more, and I know that is what everyone wants to do.’

The Royals will be looking to make it three wins on the spin when they travel to the ugly capital of England for the game with Liverpool on Saturday.

To even come away with a point would be a massive result for the Royals! Maybe they should watch a tape of the first game of the season at Old Trafford!
