The Clear Out Begins

The clear out required in January has begun today, as Pelle Clement has departed Reading FC and reunited with the man who brought him to Berkshire. The Dutchman has rejoined former Royals boss Jaap Stam and signed for struggling Eredivise side PEC Zwolle.

The twenty-two year old has signed a two and a half year deal with the Dutch top flight side, after making only twenty nine appearances for Reading in his eighteen month spell with the club. His only first team appareance this season came very early on in the campaign, as he came on as a first half substitute against Birmingham in the Carabao Cup.

PEC Zwolle are currently on a mid season break in Spain at the moment, which will give Clement a decent amount of time to meet his new team mates and settle into the side.

This transfer definitely makes sense, but I do feel a bit sad to see Pelle go. He definitely has decent ability, but his inexperience did show through a lot of the time, and he didn’t quite have the physicality for the English game.

I wish him the best for the future. Thank You Pelle
