Vital Reading season preview

Club: Roterham United

Founded: 1925

Nickname: The Millers

Ground: New York Stadium (Capacity: 12,021)

When we face off: Tues 4th November (H), Sat 18th April (A)

Last season finish: 4th – League One (promoted through play-offs)

Manager: Steve Evans – The former Boston manager is far from the most liked man in football, but his record at getting teams promoted speaks for itself. There were a few raised eyebrows when he dropped a league to join Roterham in League Two, but two consecutive promotions later, his decision appears justified.

Key player: Ben Pringle – A very talented leftie, who won many admirers for his performances last season for the Millers. His natural position is as a number ten, but his abilities to cross from wide positions make him a good asset out wide too.

Season Preview: Some deals struggle when coming up to the Championship from League one, but like Brentford, Roterham have recruited well in the window. Jordan Bowery and John Swift bring youthful exuberance, with the likes of Matt Derbyshire and Paul Green bringing needed experience into the Rotherham ranks.
