No, not the one in the photo.

Yakou Meite yesterday signed a new four-year contract to extend his stay with the Royals until 2022.

The young forward from the Ivory Coast joined Reading from Paris St. Germain on a free in 2016. Meite made fifteen appearances in his first season in Berkshire, before spending last season out on loan at French Ligue 2 side Sochaux. In all competitions, the 22-year-old has made twenty-seven appearances for the Royals and scored two goals.

Manager Paul Clement is quoted as saying, “Yakou is a strong, powerful, versatile, attack-minded player who has demonstrated he is capable of playing in a number of different positions on the pitch. At 22 years of age, he is a player who I believe will continue to improve and I am very pleased he has committed to a new contract at the club.”*

I think this is a good piece of business by the club. Yakou plays with plenty of hunger and desire. He is a young player with lots of potential, and given his pedigree at youth level, if the gaffer can get the best out of the young man, then hopefully we will have a mighty good player on our hands.
