It’s a long trip up north for the Royals tomorrow, as they look to take on a slowly-rejuvenating Sunderland side under Chris Coleman. We take a look at team news for both sides.

Jaap Stam could name a third consecutive starting team for the first time in his tenure as Royals boss, as it seems we won’t have any returning from injury. Midfielder John Swift came off injured against Bolton last week, but would only return to the substitutes at best. Sam Smith is still on the treatment table.

Winger Garath McCleary has returned to training, but probably won’t be considered for a squad until Cardiff in two weeks time.
Defender Jordan Obita is unlikely to play again this season, while Callum Harriott is slowly building his fitness back up. Striker Joseph Mendes is still nursing a knee problem.

Chris Coleman enjoyed his first win as Sunderland boss against Burton and like his counterpart, is expected to keep the same side. Winger Duncan Watmore is a long-term absentee for the Black Cats, while on-loan midfielder Jonathan Williams is also missing for the hosts tomorrow afternoon.

Central defender Lamine Koné and Josh Maja are also both out sidelined with injury, with O’Shea and Browning likely to start in the central defence. There will also be a place in the side for former loanee Lewis Grabban, who has been in fine goalscoring form – we all know what’s coming with a former player!
