After a cup loss in midweek, Jaap Stam’s men will want to bounce back with a home tie against Hull City, who visit the Madejski Stadium tomorrow. We take a look at team news for both sides.

Stam will still be without Callum Harriott, who has only just returned from a long-term injury and still needs minutes under his belt for the under 23s. We’re still struggling in the striker department too, as Yann Kermorgant and Joseph Mendes are both still a few weeks away.

Academy graduate Tennai Watson is still on the treatment table, but John Swift got crucial minutes in the cup in the week, so will return to the squad. Winger Modou Barrow is still set to be missing with injury, but Aluko and McCleary will return after being rested midweek.

Our opponents Hull also have a few injury concerns of their own. Defender Moses Odubajo has been a long-term absentee, as is midfielder Ryan Mason, who is doing well in his recovery from a serious injury suffered last season – let’s hope to see him back out on the pitch soon!

Strikers Will Keane and Abel Hernández are both missing through injury, leaving the Tigers slightly short up top. Brazilian forward Evandro is also missing for the visitors, but David Meyler and a few others are expecting to be recalled after a solid performance last week.

Predicted Reading XI – 4-3-3: Mannone; Gunter, McShane, Moore, Blackett; Van den Berg, Edwards, Kelly; McCleary, Bodvardsson, Aluko.
