We welcome Barnsley to the Madejski Stadium tonight in what must be considered a must-win for the under-pressure Jaap Stam. We take a look at teams news for both sides.

The biggest doubt for Jaap Stam is midfielder John Swift, who came off against Bolton last week with injury and missed the game on Saturday. There are no new fresh injury doubts for Stam, who will still be missing George Evans in midfield, as well as Garath McCleary, who has only just returned to training.

Goalkeeper Vito Mannone is still expected to start between the sticks, despite his mother’s poor health in his native Italy. Strikers Joseph Mendes and Sam Smith are still both out, while Jordan Obita remains a long-term absentee. Callum Harriott is still building his fitness back up.

Barnsley are looking pretty healthy on the injury front. Defender Adam Jackson remains on the treatment table, while winger Lloyd Isgrove is still not fit enough to return to the squad. Loanee Ike Ugbo could make a rare start after coming off the bench against Leeds on Saturday.
