Reading transfer target Stoppila Sunzu is now also being chased by Sunderland, according to CaughtOffside.com.
The 23-year old turned to TP Mazembe following Zambia’s exit from the African Cup of Nations, but disputes surrounding his current contract at his club have revived. The Zambian side believe he is contracted until 2015, while his agent claims his current deal expired in December, meaning he was free to join any side in January.
Reading were unable to complete a move for Sunzu as a result of this contract issue, but has now been reported that fellow Premier League side Sunderland are now in for the central defender. Stoppila attended a one-week trial at Reading in late January and personal terms were in place, but no move materialised.
